Dispute a marketplace payout

When a marketplace pays less than expected, export the evidence, tell Skuvelo the claim is filed, and record what you got back.

A marketplace payout that comes in short is uncollected cash on a clock — most marketplaces only accept a dispute for a limited window. Skuvelo flags the difference on Finance, gives you the evidence to send, and then stops flagging it once you have filed.

Skuvelo does not file disputes for you. You send the claim through the marketplace's own form; Skuvelo prepares it and remembers it.

1. Find the payout

Open Finance and look at Settlement reconciliation. A payout whose actual proceeds differ from what your orders predicted shows the difference and, underneath, a panel explaining what happened.

2. Export the packet

In that panel, Export dispute packet downloads a CSV, and Printable packet opens a page your browser can save as a PDF. Both contain the same thing:

  • the marketplace's own statement reference and the payout period,
  • expected proceeds, what was actually paid, and the difference claimed,
  • a row per order with its date, expected proceeds, estimated fees and what was paid,
  • a final Unexplained difference row.

The rows always add up to the difference being claimed, to the cent. That last row is why. Most marketplaces do not tell Skuvelo which orders made up a payout, so the rows are every order on that channel placed inside the payout period — a close reconstruction, not the marketplace's own itemisation. If it does not account for the whole shortfall, the remainder is stated plainly rather than hidden. A packet that silently did not balance would lose you the claim when the marketplace added it up.

The packet contains order numbers, dates and amounts only. No customer names, email addresses or delivery addresses ever appear in it.

3. Mark it disputed

Once you have filed with the marketplace, enter the case reference they gave you (and a note, if it helps) and click Mark disputed.

From then on the variance stops counting toward your attention figures. It stays on the settlement list so you can find it, and it stays reachable so you can close it.

If the payout later changes and a new difference appears, Skuvelo brings it back to your attention. The claim you filed was for a stated amount; a different amount is a different claim, and you should see it.

4. Record what you got back

When the marketplace settles, click Resolve and enter how much was recovered. Whatever is not recovered is recorded as written off, so the claim always accounts for the whole amount you disputed — your books and Skuvelo do not end up differing by the part nobody wrote down.

A dispute you recovered nothing on is recorded as written off in full. Either way the claim is closed, and the payout can be disputed again if a new difference appears.

Who can do what

Anyone who can see Finance can read a dispute and export its packet. Filing and resolving need the Finance permission — see Team roles and permissions.
