Set a minimum and maximum for an item at one location

Hold a warehouse, store or FBA node to its own min/max for an item. Below the minimum, Transfers suggests topping the location up to its maximum.

Skuvelo normally plans each location from its own sales. A min/max overrides that for one item at one location: you name the minimum it should never fall below and the maximum to refill it to.

Set a min/max

  1. Open Locations and choose the location's name.
  2. Under Stocking levels, enter the SKU, the Min and the Max, then choose Save level.
  3. To change one, choose Edit on its row. To stop holding the location to it, choose Clear.

A min/max is set on the locations Skuvelo plans separately: a warehouse, an FBA node or a 3PL. A bin or zone shares its warehouse's stock, so the page explains that instead of showing the form.

Anyone on your team can see them. Changing them needs a role that can manage inventory (owner, admin or planner). Every change is recorded in the activity log with the old and new figures.

What a min/max does to transfers

When an item's position at the location (on hand plus anything already on its way) drops below the minimum, Transfers suggests moving enough from another location to bring it up to the maximum.

For example, with Min 20 and Max 60 and 12 on hand, the suggestion is 48 units: 60 − 12. At 20 or more, no top-up is suggested.

Leave Max empty to size by days of cover instead. Skuvelo then fills the location to enough stock for its own sales over the supplier's lead time plus your review period, and never to less than the minimum. The table shows "Days of cover" in the Max column.

A location that supplies a transfer keeps its own min/max, so a transfer never takes another location below its minimum.

Items with no min/max

Nothing changes. An item without a min/max at a location is planned from that location's sales exactly as before, so setting a min/max on one item never moves the suggestions for any other.

On a phone

The location page works at phone width: the table scrolls sideways and the form stacks. Most teams set them at a desk; the transfer suggestions they produce are on Transfers wherever you are.

Try the plan on your own stock.
