Counting without signal

How counts, transfer shipments and receipts keep working in a dead wifi patch — figures are saved on your phone and sent when it reconnects, exactly once.

Warehouse aisles and back rooms often have no signal. Skuvelo saves every figure you enter on a count, and every shipment or receipt you record on a transfer, on your phone first. It sends them the moment the phone is back online, so a dropped connection never loses your work.

What you see

Each count line you fill in shows Saved on this phone until it reaches Skuvelo, then Saved.
Above the lines, Saved on this phone · will send when online (3) tells you how many figures are waiting.
On a phone, a small badge with the same number appears in the top bar whenever something is waiting. Tap it to go back to that count or transfer. It disappears when everything has been sent.

Scanning still works with no signal on a count: a barcode is matched against the items on the sheet you have open.

Reloading or closing the app

Once you have opened a count or transfer with signal, it reopens with no signal too, with every saved figure still in place. You can close the app, lock the phone or reload the page. Waiting figures are sent when the phone reconnects or the app is opened again, and retried on their own after that.

Sending twice never counts twice

Each figure carries its own key, made on your phone when you entered it. If the connection drops after Skuvelo received a figure but before your phone heard back, sending it again is recognized as the same entry. Stock moves once, when the count is posted, no matter how many times a figure was sent.

Skuvelo also records each figure at the time you entered it, not the time it arrived. Sales that happen while your phone is offline are not mistaken for variance.

When a figure is not sent

Some figures can't be applied by the time they arrive, and Skuvelo will not apply them silently:

The count was closed: someone submitted, cancelled or posted it while you were offline.
The expected figure changed on a count that shows expected figures.
A transfer moved on: a different total was already recorded.

The figure then shows under not sent, with the reason. Choose Discard, or type the figure again on the line to send a new entry.

Submitting and signing out

Submitting a count needs a connection. Your figures are already saved, so you can submit as soon as you're back online.

Signing out sends anything still waiting, then clears this phone's saved figures and the screens stored for offline use. Someone else signing in on the same phone never sends your figures and never sees your screens.
