Deleting, archiving or pausing a product
Remove a product you added by mistake, retire one that has history, or keep it but stop Skuvelo suggesting orders for it.
There are three ways to take a product out of your way, and they keep different amounts of it. All three are on the product's own page and need an owner, admin or planner. Other roles can see the settings but not change them.
Delete it permanently
In the Record status card, click Delete permanently and confirm. What happens depends on whether anything refers to the product:
- Nothing refers to it (for example, you created it by mistake and never ordered, sold, counted or linked it): it is removed for good. This cannot be undone.
- Something refers to it (an order line, a purchase order line, a stock movement, a count, a supplier link, a channel mapping, a variant and so on): it is archived instead, so that history stays intact, and the page says what still refers to it, for example "Kept as archived: 3 order lines reference it."
While the product can still be archived, the confirmation also offers Archive instead.
Archive it, or mark it inactive
The Record status card also moves the record between statuses. An approved record can be marked Inactive, and an inactive one can be made Approved again. Any record that isn't archived yet can be marked Archived. Archiving is one-way: an archived record keeps its history but can't be moved back to another status. Archived products leave the main Products list and stay one tap away behind its Archived view.
Keep it, but stop suggesting orders
To keep selling or holding a product but stop Skuvelo recommending purchases for it, open the product, tick Stop suggesting orders for this product, and click Save changes. It stays on your buy plan, marked as not being reordered, and nothing is ordered for it until you clear the box. Stock and demand are still tracked. This suits a seasonal line you will buy again.
A product's Channel status (New, Active, Slow moving, Discontinued) is set by the sales channel, not here. A product the channel marks Discontinued is described as retired, but that alone does not stop Skuvelo suggesting orders for it. Use the box above for that.
