Cancelling part of an order

Cancel some or all of an order's unshipped units, choose whether the stock goes back to available, and read what the order says afterwards.

You can cancel an order's unshipped units in whole or in part from the order itself. Shipped units are never cancelled — they come home through a return.

Cancel some or all of the unshipped units

  1. Open the order from Orders and choose Cancel order.
  2. Every line that still has units open is listed, with its open quantity already filled in. To cancel the rest of the order, confirm as it is.
  3. To cancel only part, change the numbers: lower a line to keep some of it open, or set it to 0 to leave that line alone. The confirm button then says how many units it will cancel, for example Cancel 2 units.

A line takes a whole number from 0 up to what it still has open. Skuvelo refuses to cancel more than that, so a second person cancelling the same order at the same moment cannot double-count.

Cancelling in Skuvelo does not cancel the order on your selling channel.

Put the units back on sale, or not

By default, any units reserved for the cancelled quantity go straight back to available, so they can be sold or planned again.

When a line had only part of its quantity reserved, the units still open keep the reservation first. For example, with 5 ordered and 2 reserved, cancelling 2 releases nothing (the 3 still open need those 2), and cancelling 4 releases 1.

If the goods cannot be resold, untick Return cancelled units to available stock. Skuvelo then takes exactly the units the cancel releases out of on-hand, instead of returning them to available, so a cancel that releases nothing takes nothing out. The change appears in the item's history with the order as its reference. The box only appears for people who can adjust inventory.

What the order says afterwards

An order with units still open keeps its open status. Once everything left has shipped, an order that had units cancelled reads Shipped — 2 cancelled (with its own count), not Fulfilled, so nobody mistakes it for a complete shipment. An order where every unit was cancelled reads Cancelled.

Cancelling from the warehouse

Owners, admins and the warehouse role can ship and cancel orders. The cancel is recorded in the audit log with the units, lines and whether stock was restocked.
