Getting started with Skuvelo
The first week, in order — bring your data in, establish your counts, and read your first reorder recommendation.
Skuvelo is inventory and purchasing software for people who sell physical products. Getting started is the same short loop for everyone: bring your data in, establish what you actually have on hand, then let the forecast tell you what to buy next.
Bring your data in
There are two ways in, and they combine — most people use both.
- Connect a sales channel. A connection brings across your products and your order history, which is what the forecast is built from.
- Upload a spreadsheet. Products, stock levels, and order history can each be uploaded on their own, so you do not have to connect a store to start. See bringing your data in from a spreadsheet.
One thing worth knowing before you upload history: status matters on every order row. History that already shipped needs status: fulfilled, or it reads as still open and never contributes to a forecast or a reorder recommendation. It is the most common reason an import lands and the forecast still looks empty.
Establish your on-hand counts
A channel connection does not send stock levels — no sales channel is the authority on what is physically on your shelves. On-hand quantity is established by you: a spreadsheet of counts, or a count done in the product. Until that happens, treat the stock figures as unestablished rather than wrong.
This is deliberate. Inventory accuracy is the whole point of the product, and a number imported from somewhere that was never counting is worse than an empty field, because it looks like an answer.
Let it observe before it acts
Every new connection starts in Observe mode. Skuvelo reads your data and shows you what it sees; nothing is written back to your store and no purchase order is created for you.
After onboarding the default is Assist mode: Skuvelo drafts the recommendation — a reorder, a purchase order — and you approve it. Nothing becomes a financial commitment without an explicit approval from a person.
What the first week looks like
In roughly this order:
- Connections show a healthy sync status.
- Your product and inventory screens show real counts rather than zeros.
- The first reorder recommendation appears, and you review it — even if the answer is "not yet".
A thin history is expected at first and is not a problem to fix. Forecasting works from real sales history, so a connection that is a day old will show conservative or incomplete recommendations because there is not much to work from yet. That resolves on its own as history accumulates. If you are well past your first sync and still seeing none of the three signs above, that is worth a closer look.
